Email forwarding
Mail forwarding allows you to deliver mail to addresses at your domain to existing email accounts (e.g. the one provided by your ISP or a free account like Hotmail or Gmail). The advantage is that you do not need to set up any special email software and your mail storage is not limited to the size of account you have with us. The disadvantage is that it can be unreliable as the mail is having to make several extra journeys to reach you and many of the free email providers have fierce anti spam measures which can prevent delivery of forwarded email. We provide POP3 based email and a Webmail interface which will be more reliable, but forwarding is still a useful option.
We provide two types of mail forwarding:
1. Catch All - All mail addressed to anything at your domain name is forwarded to one existing email account. The advantage of this is that it gives you an infinite number if useable addresses all delivered to the same location. The disadvantage is that you may receive a lot of spam addressed to random addresses at your domain name.
2. Individual Forwarders - You may enable up to ten seperate email forwarding addresses with each of these forwarding to a different existing email address.
To set up email forwarding:
-
Click on the Mail Forwarding icon in the control panel.
-
Select catch all or individual forwarders. Follow the onscreen instructions.
